We are proud to announce that our Ann's have made a total of R55 632.20 on the "Dennis Collins Jewelers Survivor Chocolate Breakfast" held at the 2 Swans recently, of which R27 100.00 was raised from the auction of jewelery donated by Dennis Collins and paintings by artists Gary Klinkhart, Colleen Meier & Brenard, the balance being made up by the sale of attendance tickets and donations. The Ann's decided to give R50 000.00 of this to Reach for a Dream and the balance to The Rotary Foundation which indirectly enables many of the worlds destitute to reach their dreams. Without the Rotary Foundation many of the wonderful humanitarian projects carried out in our community by local Rotary Clubs and indeed for similar causes by Rotary Clubs throughout the world, would not be possible.

On behalf of our Ann's we, the members of the Rotary Club of Beacon Bay thank all those who assisted Ann President, Fay Goedhals and her team in making this event the success that it was, this includes all the sponsors and Ashley Hayden the special guest speaker, we look forward to next years event.

On the 25th March, members, Ann’s, visitors and friends alike enjoyed the relaxed yet festive atmosphere of the East London Museums Coelacanth Restaurant where two people were inducted as members of the club. After the usual opening and other formalities President Margi Coutts attended to the induction Fred Abagaye who had been a member of the club but had taken a year off to further his studies and Gary Galanos, a Paul Harris Fellow and Rotarian who had transferred in from Durban. The inductees were warmly welcomed by all present which was followed by a good meal and the usual good fellowship which prevails at our clubs functions.

Welcome Fred and Gary, we hope you have many years of happy and fulfilling times with the club, assisting the club and yourselves in attaining Rotary goals.
